OSHA ASA Safety Alliance Benefits Member Staffing Agencies

ASA-member_stack-RGB-WEB Last week, during ASA’s Staffing Law Conference, the ASA and OSHA leadership announced an alliance. A preview of the alliance was shared at the ISSA (Illinois Search and Staffing Association) Midwest Conference earlier this month.

The OSHA ASA safety alliance supports industry and association member efforts to protect temporary worker safety and ultimately improve workplace safety overall.

As a member of the American Staffing Association (ASA), Barton Staffing Solutions is pleased to see the alliance articulate some of the programs and initiatives it already has in place for it’s clients and employees.

The news reiterates what was shared in the Temporary Worker Initiative TWA Bulletin No. 1 earlier this year from OSHA (the Occupational Safety and Health Administration).  Other valuable bulletins are expected from the alliance over time that will benefit ASA members, their clients and temporary workers.

Bulletin No. 1 outlines the responsibilities for injury and illness recordkeeping as it pertains to temporary workers.  Every company with a temporary workforce should read the bulletin and understand it’s requirements.  Every staffing agency should have policies and procedures in place to ensure these guidelines are followed.

Staffing agencies through ASA membership have access to Safety Best Practices and other resources.

If you are not sure if your staffing agency is a member of the ASA, take another look. Or, call Barton Staffing Solutions to learn more about these best practices and how an agency’s effective safety policies and procedures can benefit you.

Barton Staffing Solutions is a member of the ASA. Barton Staffing Solutions support client’s safety programs with access to their full-time safety manager. Barton Staffing Solutions has developed clear and required safety policies and accident reporting procedures aligned with the requirements laid out in the alliance.

Your staffing company should offer this same level of support for  your own internal safety programs laid out by the ASA. If you don’t know for sure, just ask.

Employee Safety Best Practices outlined by the ASA focus on a staffing firm’s general operation and management of workplace incidents, selection and training of safety-minded employees, and interaction with and selection of safety-minded clients, among other criteria. The support by the ASA is critical for staffing agencies today.

Barton Staffing Solutions is a leader in supporting client needs and promoting worker safety through training, policies and procedures.  To learn more, call us today and set up an appointment with our Safety Manager.
