Preparing for Staffing with COVID-19
Dealing with the threat of business disruption comes from many directions. Staffing and COVID-19 and the effect it will have on our client’s business is less clear than many other concerns. Staffing firms and their clients know not to ignore it. (COVID-19 is the novel corona virus that has been in the news for the past few weeks.)
Our strategy is to continue to meet our client’s expectations for staffing and recruiting while at the same time we stay informed, inform others as information is available, and ensure our clients and employees know we are watching closely. We have also made efforts to notify employees of best practices.
As a member, Barton Staffing Solutions has been advised by the American Staffing Association (ASA) to follow U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention published guidelines for prevention. We have also shared notices (below) with clients and employees based on the CDC’s recommendations. Many are common sense.
We want our clients and our employees to know that prior to the recommendation, we had communicated and posted these guidelines in each of our offices. They refer to additional CDC publications and FAQs to help provide additional information. We encourage our employees to be informed. The CDC’s general guidelines are:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose and mouth).
- If you are sick, stay home.
- Cough into a tissue, and toss tissue in the trash.
- Clean/disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
- Follow CDC guidelines for wearing face masks.
- Wash hands often with soap or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
As always, Barton Staffing Solutions will work closely with clients to help ensure their operations are productive during this time of caution. Together we will get proceed with the least business disruption possible.
